Biography

Dr. Taimoor Naeem is an accomplished researcher and educator with expertise in electrical engineering, specializing in advanced Optical Technologies, Machine Learning, Electromagnetic Theory, Photonics & opto-electronics devices and Computer Vision. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Information Technology University of Punjab, Pakistan, an M.S. from NUST Islamabad, and a B.S. from COMSATS, Lahore.

Dr. Naeem’s research contributions are at the forefront of optical and photonic technologies, focusing on dynamic chiral metasurfaces, tunable metadevices, and innovative chiro-optical effects. His work has been published in leading journals such as Advanced Optical Materials, RSC Advances, and Optical Materials Express. A highlight of his career is his pioneering research on broadband phase-gradient holographic displays, advancing the fields of biomedical optics and optical diagnostics.

In his current role as Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at COMSATS, Lahore, Dr. Naeem is engaged in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, and contributing to departmental growth through leadership roles. He has served on committees such as the Industrial Advisory Board and Self-Assessment Report PEC-OBE, ensuring academic and industrial alignment.

Dr. Naeem has been instrumental in setting up and upgrading laboratory facilities, including designing equipment setups and preparing comprehensive lab manuals for microwave and antenna engineering. As a lecturer, he has developed strong collaborations between academia and industry, facilitating research opportunities and practical applications.

Dr. Naeem’s research has extended to energy modeling and planning during his tenure as a Research Associate with Pakistan’s Planning Commission, where he worked on the Pakistan Integrated Energy Model (PIEM). His contributions include analyzing power, fuel, and industrial sectors while participating in policy development for renewable and conventional energy projects.

Beyond his technical expertise, Dr. Naeem excels in project management, proposal writing, and cross-functional team collaboration, making him a dynamic leader in both academic and professional settings.
