Proposed System

  • Modules
  • The proposed Healthcare system is focused to provide quality of life in chaotic medical situations in Pakistan. The objective is to closely monitor the existing healthcare services and ICT systems, if any, in Pakistan to come up with a robust solution. The analysis of the existing healthcare setups in Pakistan has led to following functional requirements.

  • Remote Patient Monitoring:
  • The remote patient-monitoring module will help in real-time continuous monitoring of patients not having access to expert medical services. This will also help the healthcare experts to have updated information of critical patients remotely facilitating the cases where patients are not hospitalized.  Patients will also be able to view their medical history and progress.

  • Optimized Priority Assignment Module:
  • In the proposed scheme, an efficient algorithm, which decides at runtime which data flow is to be given high priority based on its criticality will be developed. The data generated by the data acquisition node (DAN) will be compared with their respective threshold values. If the value of any type of sensed data is greater or close to its threshold, then priority will be assigned to that data stream. Different priorities will be assigned which is based on data urgency.
At the intermediate sensor nodes, a classifier will be used. The task of the classifier will be to classify different data flows and assign queues according to their priority and the source node identifier. A scheduler adaptively will schedule packets on the basis of the priority assigned by the proposed scheme. Also at each intermediate node, an average queuing delay will be calculated for both priority and non-priority queues at the end of every specific interval. The interval will be selected at which the best throughput is obtained by maintain a threshold range TR for average queuing delay. The calculated value will be compared against the TR and an appropriate action will be taken in case the average queuing delay is greater than the threshold.

  • Knowledge Base Module:
  • Knowledge Base module will help in creating the knowledge based on the medical data acquired from the remote sensing for objective analysis and predictive behavior. This module will facilitate the healthcare professionals to generate patient and disease specific care plans based on the historic data of similar patients using machine learning and data mining techniques.

  • Medical Ontologies Module:

This module will help in developing the standardized medical ontologies for efficient searching and seamless integration with the existing medical solutions.
