PhD Chemistry
Program Overview
PhD program at Department of Chemistry provides students an excess to latest fields of Chemistry in terms of knowledge as well as research. It provides solid theoretical foundations by offering the latest courses designed by leading experts in various fields of chemistry. Department of Chemistry provides tremendous research environment with the services of its dedicated PhD faculty members with specialization in the fields of Computational Chemistry, Nanochemistry, Biochemistry, Electrochemical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Advanced Material Chemistry and Green Chemistry. At this platform, students are exposed to the latest research ideas through innovative technologies and get the opportunity to work with renowned faculty in the state of art laboratories to push forward their boundaries of skills and potential. The Department has extensive research collaborations with different national and international institutions and has won several research grants from national and international funding agencies.
Admission Pre-requisites for PhD Program
Following are the pre-requisites for admission in PhD program:
- MS/M.Phil degree in the relevant field from an accredited educational institution, with minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (semester system) or 70% marks (annual system), and no third division (annual system) or ‘D’ grade throughout the academic career;
- GRE (subject) as per HEC policy or NTS-GAT (subject) with a minimum score of 60.
Degree Requirement for Ph.D
PhD degree program is spread over 24 credit hours, required to be completed according to the criteria cited below:
- Courses: 18 credit hours
- Comprehensive exam
- D Thesis of 6 credit hours
- Open Defense
- Publication of at least one research article based on the PhD research work in an HEC approved" W or X" category journal
