Bachelor of Fine Arts
According to Nietzsche, art is not just a form of human activity but is rather the highest expression of the human spirit. Art is a multidisciplinary and collaborative field of knowledge, thus the overall objective of the BFA program is to lead in art-practice, to play a proactive role in developing a philosophy of art relevant to the region and context, and creating an environment that nourishes and instigates creativity to impart education that will help the students to follow their own interests and fully develop their creative abilities.
In BFA the students explore different genres of Fine Arts such as Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, and Print-making with their own complex context and history. They are trained to develop individual ways of expression based on interpretation, innovation and experimentation and to decide where they stand in relation to the wide-ranging debate on the subject.
Integrating conceptual development with technical skills and introducing interdisciplinary mediums of expression by merging conventional and non-conventional mediums, the course is spread over 140 credit hours and follows three core domains of learning, thinking and skill development, i.e. History of Philosophy of Art, Art Technologies, and Studio Practice culminating into a Thesis. Preparing students to have a meaningful presence within the profession, the whole process is supported by visits, class discussions, presentations, report writing, critique, maintaining of journals, and interaction with guest speakers, extra-curricular activities, workshopEXPERIENCES and participation in community development.
