Dr. Ayesha Jamil, graduated from University of Cambridge, UK with a PhD degree, where she worked on the growth and fabrication of III-V semiconductors as potential quantum light sources. Her work revolved around the growth of nucleation- and energy-engineered Indium Arsenide quantum dots via Molecular Beam Epitaxy. She also worked on the possible device incorporation of quantum dots into photonic devices such as Nanowires and Photonic Crystal Cavities using advanced fabrication techniques.Prior to doctoral degree, Dr. Jamil earned her Masters Degree (M.Sc) from Department of Physics, University of Punjab, Lahore.
Her current research interests focus upon designing new semiconductor materials and device optics to enhance the quantum efficiencies of solar cells and reverse applications, quantum dots as bio-compatible tracers, block copolymer lithography and advanced materials for energy storage applications.
