Biography

I am Maria Shamim, a PhD scholar in English Linguistics at the University of Education, Lahore, and have been associated with COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, since 2010. My research interests include Ecolinguistics and Corpus-Assisted Discourse Analysis, with a particular focus on examining how language constructs environmental and social realities. My doctoral research investigates the framing of climate change narratives in Pakistani English newspaper editorials through a corpus-assisted ecolinguistic approach. My research interests also extend to corpus linguistics, translation studies, and World Englishes.
