Message

I feel honored to lead the "Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)" as "Head" for my 2nd term effective from July 2023 and welcome all newly admitted students in various programs of the department at both undergraduate and graduate levels in SP23 and Fall23 semesters. ECE is one of the largest and oldest departments of COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Lahore Campus with regards to the strength of the students and occupies a central place in major activities carried out on the campus. Our vision for the department is to be "nationally and internationally recognized for excellent eduacational programs" both at undergraduate and graduate levels and significantly contribute towards applied research which may directly or indirectly affect the socio-economic aspects of the country.

We are striving to achieve objectives by imparting rigorous quality engineering education to our stellar students and engaging our faculty and various research groups in cutting edge fields of the research. The degree programs offered at the department have a balanced mix of theory and practical work performed in the laboratories along with mandatory internship during the summer break. All degree programs currently being offered both at undergraduate and graduate levels at ECE are duly recognized by the Higher Eduaction Commisiion (HEC), Islamabad and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Islamabad, Pakistan, considered to be the "Regualtory Bodies" for the quality assurance of both higher education and engineering education as per international standards all over the Pakistan. All our undergraduate programs in Electrical and Computer engineering are duly accredited by PEC on Level-II of OBE criteria of Washington Accord (WA) from Fall16 intake and onward batches which enable our engineering graduates to become employable internationally. Moreover, OBE Level-II PEC accreditation of our undergraduate engineering programs enable our graduates to get visa of European, Scandinavian and Asian countries easily and serve them atleast for two year period time without any exams./assessment which is indeed a big news and achievement for our graduates.

I would like to assure all the parents that the Department will take all possible steps to ensure the safety and well being of our students currently enrolled in our various programs under the sixth wave of Covid 19 and Dengue fever in the Lahore city. We (the faculty) are also deeply committed to inculcate in our graduates the essential skills and professional talent through trainings, workshops and seminars etc. that help them to meet the needs of the fourth industrial revolution as well as to impart industry and market based eduaction which can bring laurels to their adopted future careers.

In conclusion, please join us on our exciting journey into realizing your highest potential towards becoming academic leaders in Pakistan and South-East Asia and helping our beloved country by providing the desired impetus towards the biggest drive of growth, i.e., Human Resource Development (HRD). I pray to Almighty Allah (SWT) for His assistance and guidance in our future endeavors and look forward towards glorious achievements in the times to come with our team work efforts.
