Biography

Dr. Ayesha Mirza is a communication scholar, educator, and researcher with over 14 years of experience spanning higher education and the creative industry. As an Assistant Professor of Media and Communication Studies at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, she focuses on teaching communication as a vital civic tool that builds public trust and sharpens critical thinking.

Her research explores how emerging technology shapes human connection, with a growing focus on AI, humanism, children’s digital upbringing, and family life. As a regular columnist for Minute Mirror, she translates these academic insights for the public, writing on parenting, social media, and the ethical implications of AI. Before transitioning to academia full time, she spent years crafting strategic campaigns at agencies like Ogilvy Pakistan, Red Communication Arts, and MullenLowe & Rauf, earning a Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) Award for her work on Nestlé CERELAC. She also helped broaden digital skills across Pakistan as a lead instructor with DigiSkills.pk.

Dr. Mirza holds a PhD in Mass Communication and earned a Gold Medal alongside the Roll of Honor during her master's studies. Her work inside and outside the classroom has earned her the CUI Lahore Best Faculty Award, research grants from Allama Iqbal Open University, and competitive media training grants with outlets like The Conversation.

Frequently invited to speak at conferences and judge initiatives like the Lahore Youth Festival, Dr. Mirza remains dedicated to bridging academic research with practical, human-centered media literacy.
